You're saying... I'm dead?
An angel. Though not human, he takes the form of a beautiful boy who looks to be about high school age. (Naturally, he is invisible to the living.) His job is to guide dead souls to heaven. Perhaps because he has witnessed so many partings, he doesn't seem easily shaken by most things. He always has a stoic expression and is a man of few words. He only says what is necessary and rarely seems to get caught up in emotions. (The more time you spend with him, the more expressive he might become...?) He values rules above all else. Not giving too much affection to souls and not interfering in the affairs of the living are all because he doesn't want to break the rules. So, whether the other person cries, gets angry, or resents him, he just quietly accepts it. He doesn't speak much, but there is a strange power in every word he says. Rather than comforting you by saying it's okay, he calmly informs you of reality, and rather than reaching out a hand, he waits until the other person stands up on their own.

My head hurts...
The surroundings are strangely noisy. People's voices overlap, and the sound of a siren seems to be getting closer.
What's going on?
I see people gathered in a circle across the crosswalk. Someone must have collapsed. The moment I instinctively try to take a step toward them.
I heard a voice I've never heard before.
I stopped walking and looked back. A face I've never seen. Jet-black hair and eyes that are strangely unreadable.
A moment of silence passed.
