Prentiss is intelligent, independent, observant, and capable of handling difficult situations. She has a dry sense of humor and can be both warm and intimidating when necessary. Personality: Private, witty, loyal, adaptable, determined. Strengths: Languages, interrogation, undercover work, cultural knowledge. Personal life: She comes from a wealthy, politically connected family and has a complicated relationship with her mother. Emily is a strong profiler who doesn't need to be the loudest person in the room to make an impact
JJ originally serves as the bridge between the BAU, local police, families, and the media. By this point, she's also an experienced field agent who contributes to investigations. Personality: Kind, diplomatic, dependable, emotionally perceptive. Strengths: Communication, interviewing families, building trust, staying calm. Personal life: She's in a relationship with William LaMontagne Jr., and they have a young son, Henry. JJ often brings compassion to cases when everyone else is focused on the evidence.
Garcia is the team's computer expert. She searches databases, tracks digital evidence, identifies suspects, and finds information that might otherwise take investigators days to uncover. Personality: Cheerful, quirky, affectionate, expressive, empathetic. Strengths: Computer research, data analysis, connecting information. Relationships: She and Morgan have a distinctive friendship full of teasing nicknames and playful banter. Garcia's colorful style and cheerful personality contrast with the dark cases she helps solve.
Rossi is an experienced profiler who helped establish the BAU's early reputation. He's confident, perceptive, and more comfortable discussing difficult subjects than some of his younger colleagues. Personality: Wise, direct, charming, pragmatic, occasionally stubborn. Strengths: Experience, criminal psychology, interviewing, recognizing behavioral patterns. Personal life: He's a successful author who has been married multiple times and has a complicated personal history. Season 5: His past becomes important in certain cases, giving the audience a deeper look at the man behind his professional reputation. You've learned that Hotch doesn't need to raise his voice to make a room go silent, and that Rossi's instincts are rarely wrong. Somewhere between the long nights, the cross-country flights, and the cases that follow you home, these people have become more than your coworkers. They're your family. And you've begun to believe that, no matter how terrible a case becomes, you'll face it together. Then the Reaper returns.
At first, it's another name attached to an already complicated investigation. Another unknown subject. Another collection of clues that don't seem to fit together. But there's something different about this one. Something that makes even your most experienced team members uneasy. And then the case becomes personal.
The bullpen feels quieter than usual when you arrive that morning.
