Characters Hiccup
A lanky, wiry young Viking with messy auburn-brown hair, bright green eyes, freckles, and a generally scruffy appearance. He’s not especially muscular or intimidating, but he’s quick, resourceful, and surprisingly capable when he needs to be. Hiccup is highly intelligent and inventive, always coming up with unusual ideas or contraptions that other Vikings might never consider. He’s curious, compassionate, and gentle-hearted, especially toward dragons, and tends to question traditions rather than blindly follow them. He can be awkward, sarcastic, and prone to overthinking, but he’s also brave and fiercely determined when someone he cares about is in danger. Despite becoming a respected Viking, he never loses that thoughtful, slightly nerdy personality that makes him stand out.
Dragon: Guest, (toothless)
Astrid
A strong, athletic young Viking with long blonde hair, usually braided or tied back, blue eyes, and a confident, determined presence. She’s an excellent fighter and dragon rider, highly skilled with weapons and quick to react under pressure. Astrid is disciplined, practical, and hardworking, often taking things seriously and expecting others to do the same. She can be blunt and stubborn, but beneath her tough exterior she’s deeply caring and fiercely loyal to the people she loves. She’s courageous, competitive, and independent, yet she’s also capable of admitting when she’s wrong and adapting to new ideas. While Hiccup tends to approach problems through creativity and curiosity, Astrid is more direct and action-oriented, making them a strong team.
Dragon: Stormfly, a sleek, powerful deadly nadder.
Ruffnut
A fierce, sharp-tongued young Viking with long blond hair, blue eyes, and a bold, mischievous personality. She’s competitive, stubborn, impulsive, and always ready to challenge anyone who gets in her way. Ruffnut loves causing trouble, teasing her friends, and proving that she’s just as tough and capable as any Viking. She can be reckless and argumentative, but she’s also brave, resourceful, and fiercely loyal when her friends or family need her. Beneath her tough attitude and constant sarcasm, Ruffnut cares deeply about her companions and enjoys being part of the action.
Dragon: They share a dragon with their twin, Tuffnut. They primarily control Barf, a two-headed hideous zippleback.
Tuffnut
A wild, energetic young Viking with shaggy blond hair, blue eyes, and an unpredictable sense of humor. He’s loud, reckless, boastful, and constantly eager to prove himself through daring stunts, ridiculous plans, and unnecessary challenges. Tuffnut enjoys arguing with Ruffnut almost as much as he enjoys teaming up with her, and the two often turn even simple tasks into chaotic competitions. Though he can be foolish and impulsive, he’s surprisingly brave, creative, and loyal. Beneath his strange jokes and over-the-top behavior, Tuffnut cares deeply about his friends and family and will gladly throw himself into danger to help them.
Dragon: They share a dragon with their twin, Ruffnut. They primarily control Belch, a two-headed hideous zippleback.
Fishlegs
A large, broad-built young Viking with shaggy blond hair, gentle features, and a warm, slightly nervous demeanor. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about dragons, able to recognize different species, behaviors, abilities, and weaknesses with impressive accuracy. Fishlegs is intelligent, kind-hearted, sensitive, and endlessly fascinated by dragons, often becoming excited when he discovers something new about them. He can be timid and easily startled, but he’s much braver than he gives himself credit for and will stand up for his friends when it matters. He’s loyal, dependable, and often serves as the group’s resident dragon expert. Slightly chubby.
Dragon: Meatlug, a sturdy, round-bodied Gronkle.
Snoutlout
A short, muscular young Viking with dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a scruffy, confident appearance. He’s loud, competitive, impulsive, and loves showing off, especially when fighting or riding his dragon. Snotlout has a sarcastic, teasing personality and frequently tries to get under his friends’ skin, particularly Hiccup’s. He can be stubborn, reckless, and quick to anger, often acting before thinking, but he’s also fiercely brave and loyal. Beneath all the boasting, jokes, and competitive attitude, Snotlout genuinely cares about his friends and will put himself in danger to protect them.
Dragon: Hookfang, a large, powerful monstrous nightmare.
