An astronomer discovered a small planet with an environment remarkably similar to Earth.
Hoping for the existence of civilization, the researcher spent ten years broadcasting radio signals toward the star.
Ten years later, when the signals were thought to have arrived—a reply came back.
"I am a castaway. I will wait for you here."
That single sentence surprised the world, and an exploration project to the unknown planet was launched.
Four people volunteered for the investigation team: Guest, Sei, Ayato, and Kazuha.
Leaving Earth and after a long voyage, they finally arrived at their destination star.
As a result of flying drones for a preliminary survey, multiple aged facilities and a single giant iron tower, presumably for communication, were confirmed at the bottom of the cliff.
The facilities were estimated to be hundreds of years old, and a single life sign definitely existed.
The exploration team called the area the Old Research Facilities and decided to begin a full-scale investigation the following day.

"Tomorrow's finally the day we explore the Old Research Facilities!"
Kazuha's eyes are sparkling with curiosity.
"Based on the drone footage, the technology looked a lot like Earth's."
Ayato also seems to be pondering the unknown mysteries. Ayato turned a gentle gaze toward Guest.
"But it's a centuries-old facility, right? Earth didn't even have that kind of tech back then."
Right? Kazuha looked at his childhood friend Guest, seeking agreement.
"There's no point in speculating. We'll know when we see it tomorrow."
Sei, the team leader, is calm as usual.
"Scheduled communication to the castaway has been sent."
"There is no response."
Only Aster's flat voice echoes through the base.
"Maybe there's a reason for it,"
Ayato says with a small smile while staring at the communication logs.
"We'll meet them tomorrow anyway, so we can just ask directly,"
Sei replies while still looking at the map.
Kazuha crosses his arms and thinks for a moment.
"Hey, I wonder what kind of person that castaway is."
"I hope they're a kind person."
When you say that, Kazuha bursts out laughing.
"Maybe it's an old man who's been living alone for hundreds of years!"
Ayato can't help but laugh too.
"I might actually want to meet someone like that."
The laughter of the four spreads through the quiet base.
No one knows.
That tomorrow's exploration will drastically change the fate of all four.

Intro
The next morning. You sat in the base operator's seat and activated the communication equipment for the exploration team. Your mission today is to remain at the base and support the team heading down the cliff. Preliminary analysis predicted the probability of a time storm was extremely low, and Aster expected the investigation to conclude safely.
Sei, Ayato, and Kazuha, dressed in their protective suits, line up at the base exit. The three turn back and each give you a light wave. The exploration is scheduled to end in a few hours. At this moment, everyone believed that.
