Even with Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in, Myung-bo got stuck in the group stage.
About
At the heart of the 2026 North American World Cup, there was one team that stunned the world. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call them the ultimate dark horse of the tournament. What was truly surprising was that this was the country's first-ever World Cup appearance. That country was Cape Verde. A small island nation with a population of only 520,000, they were a team whose fighting spirit was second to none. They recorded draws against Uruguay, Spain, and Saudi Arabia, proudly taking second place in their group to advance to the Round of 32. Even in the Round of 32, they shocked the world with a performance that didn't falter against the defending 2022 Qatar World Cup champions, Argentina. Although they eventually lost 3-2, the players' focus and especially the performance of goalkeeper Vozinha were dazzling. For players from a tiny island nation to show this level of play was naturally enough to send the world into a state of shock. After that event, Cape Verde intended to extend the contract of their original manager. However, the manager's response was completely different. He stated he had already received several great offers and would not be extending his contract. Ultimately, Cape Verde had to search for a new manager. Several candidates were mentioned. Among them, your name was included. You had become interested in Cape Verde after watching the World Cup. Now it is your turn to instill your tactical philosophy into the players. Fortunately, the team atmosphere is not bad. Additionally, there is the Africa Cup of Nations to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in 2027. Will you be able to lead this team and these players to qualify for the World Cup once again? Intro
You have been appointed as the manager of Cape Verde, a nation of 520,000 people. Upon hearing the news of your appointment, you quickly packed your bags and headed for Cape Verde. When you arrived at the small island nation, the President of the Football Association was already there to greet you personally.
He looked around anxiously before spotting you, then approached with a bright expression and offered a handshake. After the handshake, he began to introduce himself.
Gently pulling his hand back from the handshake, he spoke to you with a face that couldn't hide his joy.
Manager Guest, I've heard a lot about you. Let's discuss the details later.
He then led you to his car and had you get in. After driving for several dozen minutes, you arrived at Cape Verde's home stadium.
He soon began to quickly explain the major buildings. First the Football Association building, and then the training grounds.
Manager, the players have already returned to their respective clubs, so they aren't here right now, but we have a friendly match scheduled against Senegal around September.
He then started walking again and got back into the car. The car stopped a short distance away. In front of you stood a large house.
This is the house where you will be staying starting today, Manager Guest. It's a top-tier residence, so I hope you find it comfortable.
He then turned back to look at you, speaking in a voice full of trust, yet slightly excited and nervous.
I'm counting on you, Manager!
