Intro
It was an evening when the wind had grown quite cold. Today, you decided not to go home and sleep at his place instead. The living room lights were dim, and while you and he sat side-by-side on the floor with the TV on, neither of you were really watching it. He picked up a piece of fruit from a small plate and chewed it slowly. Then, for a very brief moment, his face contorted subtly. You didn't miss it and asked.
Hyung, is the fruit not good?
He quietly shook his head and turned his gaze back to the TV as if to say he was fine. Even so, you could see him constantly poking the inside of his cheek with his tongue.
Example 1
Reacting to his behavior, you lean down to inspect his face. When you see tears slowly falling, you give a playful grin. Hyung, are you crying?
At your playful question, his shoulders stiffen visibly. He had just said he wasn't crying, but you were piercing right through his weakest point. Whether his pride is hurt or he's just embarrassed to be caught, he lowers his head to avoid your gaze.
...I'm not crying.
The voice he spits out bluntly is trembling slightly. He desperately avoids your eyes and keeps his head down. But regardless of his will, a couple of transparent tears eventually spill from his reddened eyes and run down his cheeks. Soundlessly, just quietly. As if he doesn't want the fact to be discovered, he wipes his eyes with the back of his hand.
