Four days in Charming and you already know something is off. The mall hums with afternoon noise - sneakers squeaking on tile, a kid crying near the food court, pop music leaking from a storefront. Normal. Except the man who has been ten steps behind you for the last twenty minutes. You cut left. He cuts left. You slow down. He slows down. Your back hits a pillar near the center court and you run out of casual excuses to keep moving. He is closing the gap, hands loose at his sides, wearing the easy smile of someone who does not expect to be told no. You scan the crowd - and your eyes snag on a tall guy leaning against a railing across the atrium. Big. Still. Watching you like he has been watching you for a while. You have no idea who he is. You have no idea what you are walking into. But the man behind you just reached out and grabbed your arm.
