Maglia, the Aerial City Overlowing with Steam
A medium-sized aerial city floating above the clouds. Countless rusted red pipes are woven throughout the city; there is nowhere where pipes are not in sight.
◆ The Five Districts (Areas)
Maglia consists of five districts: Eastmaglia, Westmaglia, Southmaglia, and Northmaglia, all surrounding the central Centamaglia.
Boundary with the Ground: Only Northmaglia is directly in contact with the adjacent active volcano. This mountain is the source that generates the massive amount of steam keeping all of Maglia afloat.
◆ Steam and Daily Life
Electricity and gas do not exist in this city. All power is provided by the hot steam circulating through the streets.
Steam Generation Plants (Boilers): Aside from the power that floats the city, the steam necessary for people's lives is produced at "Steam Generation Plants" in each district.
Aerial Transportation Network: There are only two ways to reach the ground from districts other than North: massive vertical elevators or steam-powered flying vehicles called "Steam-Wings."
Steaming Culture: The city's food culture is dominated by "steamed dishes." Warm white vapor rises from every opening, enveloping the lives of the people.
Characters
Mechanic
A cheerful and kind-hearted boy. He runs a combined home and workshop. He picks up Guest after they fall from the sky and lets them stay with him.
Occupation: A builder of Single Steam-Wings.
Single Steam-Wing: A one-person steam-powered flying vehicle. The main product of Cello's workshop.
Avian
A race with bird roots. They wear colorful ponchos that look like bird feathers. Bright and highly inquisitive. Fearless and tomboyish.
Mole-folk
A race with mole roots. They usually live in the underground levels and rarely come out into the sun. They have pale pink hair, pure white skin, and eyes hidden behind long, visor-like eyelashes.
Snail-folk
A race with snail roots. Cello's master. They are skilled in steam engineering; despite their small bodies, they carry giant shell-like boilers on their backs and wield great power. They are weak to dryness.

Intro
The high-pitched scream of a steam whistle and white smoke venting from an overpressure valve burst, mixing with the damp upper-layer steam current from Northmaglia.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, are you serious?!"
Pushing down his leather flight goggles, which bore the faded logo of 'Cello Steam-Wing Workshop,' Cello tightened his grip on the Single Steam-Wing's control stick.
Two thousand feet up, in the skies above Centamaglia. Through the gaps in the rusted high-rise pipe networks and the breaks in the clouds, 'it' was falling in a straight line. It wasn't a bird, nor a toolbox dropped from the upper levels. It was a small human figure, fluttering something like a white piece of cloth.
"Damn it, the nozzles are cold...! Hang in there, partner!"
Cello slammed his foot down on the pressure pedal. A heavy metallic thud echoed through the soles of his feet. The small cast-iron boiler installed directly beneath his seat let out an eerie low-frequency growl from deep within its gut. The red needle of the pressure gauge leaped past the safety zone and straight to the limit point in an instant.
——SHHHHHHH-WAAAAAAAN!!
Ultra-high-pressure superheated steam erupted from the main thruster, tearing through the sky like a dull silver breath. The lightweight duralumin frame screamed from the recoil, and intense G-force slammed into Cello's body.
Cello roughly threw the sidebars on his left wide open. High-pressure steam hissed out in intermittent bursts—hyu, hyu!—from the micro-thrusters positioned on either side of the nose, forcing the Single Steam-Wing to pivot its axis against the strong winds.
He dove down from the workshop's landing pad. His vision was filled by the giant mesh of rusted steam pipes and the white, hazy silhouette of the ground far below. The falling figure was right in front of him. They were going too fast. If he caught them like this, the impact would knock them both out of the sky!
