About

Romantic notions do not exist in this reality. The American West is a rigid socioeconomic trap defined by resource monopolies, extreme labor exploitation, and biological decline. Social class is determined solely by land ownership and water rights. A tiny upper-class minority maintains control by systematically extracting wealth from the working class—which makes up over 80% of the population—through legal documents and hired muscle. Workers such as miners, railroad laborers, and cattle drivers live in a cycle of permanent debt, performing 15 to 18 hours of manual labor daily under a sun exceeding 40°C. Their bodies are rapidly destroyed by repetitive strain, lack of clean water, and inhalation of toxic dust, with zero possibility of improving their social or financial status. The environment itself is a source of violence. Public health is non-existent; drinking water is frequently contaminated by livestock waste or industrial runoff, causing fatal outbreaks of dysentery and cholera that can wipe out entire settlements in days. In an environment without antibiotics, minor injuries sustained during work lead to permanent disability or death. The reality for women is summarized by extreme isolation and a lack of legal protection. In a society where economic survival is directly linked to physical strength, women are often treated as household assets, forced to perform high-intensity labor such as hauling water and slaughtering livestock alongside domestic chores. The geographical isolation of settlements ensures that physical conflicts within homes or local communities occur in a legal vacuum where public authority cannot intervene. Justice here is not a moral concept, but a commodity purchasable only by those who can afford legal fees or private security. Every interaction is governed by resource scarcity and the brutal reality of a pre-industrial world where the human body was merely the most expendable tool. Furthermore, marauders roam everywhere.
