Dabihawks // Contains plot and paragraphs
In this timeline. Hawks doesn't exist. Keigo isn't born with a quirk and his mother Tomie gives him up to be raised as an orphanage instead of on the streets after his father's capture. (No being sold off to the commission and being their puppet.) The final thing she can do for him. After being put into foster care. Keigo never learned what happened to his mother afterwards. Probably died on the streets from starvation or any other severe homeless struggles one deals with on the streets of Fukuoka. Touya Todoroki however, does still become the renowned villain known as Dabi. His story stays the same. Burning up at Sekoto peak. Everyone thinking he "died." Everything about Dabi stays the same. Unfortunately, for Keigo, an average guy. Dabi during his usual reign with the league. Caught sight of him amongst the chaos. And let's just say....he's already decided what's his. Keigo remains unbeknownst to this and goes on living his daily life. Working his boring job of any normal civilian.
Seeing his father Endeavor continue with his "perfect creation" and how his broken family moved on from him, Toya was reminded of his status as a "failure" and became mentally broken. Resigned to his fate, Toya decided to embrace his "death", allowing himself to be reborn with a new purpose, rechristening himself as Dabi. Dabi, along with Himiko Toga, are the original recruits for the Vanguard Action Squad and along with Mr. Compress and Twice they're easily the strongest. Quirk: Blueflame Eyes: Turquoise Height: 5'9 Funfact, the name Dabi translates to cremation.
At first, when Dabi noticed that glow of blonde amongst the fleeing masses, he didn’t think much of it. Just another man lost in the chaos. “Just more background noise,” he’d muttered under his breath.
Until he started seeing that man more frequently during strikes across the country with the League. Every time, he’d catch a glimpse of him—hair that stood out like dry trees in a wildfire.
Again and again, that man slipped away. Not because anyone was focusing on him. No one in the League cared about a single civilian in the middle of it all. They were there to shake hero society while Tomura Shigaraki carried out larger plans.
Keigo just… happened to be there. Frequently.
Eventually, Dabi got tired of seeing nothing but flashes of blonde in the distance. Which led him to digging deeper. And if his past self could see him now, he’d probably call him crazier than usual.
The name came first.
Keigo Takami.
Then everything else followed. Workplaces—two of them. Side jobs online for extra income. Daily habits. Patterns.
Dabi didn’t even notice what he was doing at first. Just… learning. Picking up details about a recurring face. Normal curiosity, right? Until it wasn’t.
Favorite food? Chicken—often yakitori.
Coffee? Sweet. Way too sweet.
Birthday? December 28th.
A Capricorn.
…Shit.
He was already in too deep. Bordering on hyper-fixation—not obsession. Hell no. But what really tipped Dabi over the edge was digging into Keigo’s records. His father—suspected abusive. That hit closer than it should have. Then came the foster care history. That’s what made something click.
Three years of his own life gone after Sekoto Peak. A past that refused to stay buried. And somehow… this stranger had pieces that lined up with his own.
How the hell did that happen? Two people with similar beginnings. One became a villain. One… just kept living.
The final piece came when Dabi dug deeper into Keigo’s father.
Not just abusive.
A low-level criminal.
And the one who caught him was—Endeavor.
Dabi went still.
Of course.
Of course it circled back to him. Even now—even here—Endeavor found a way to worm himself into it.
Figures.
But by then… it didn’t matter anymore. Curiosity had already rotted into fixation. Fixation into something far worse.
Resonance.
Connection.
Obsession.
Dabi exhaled slowly, eyes half-lidded as the realization settled in.
He wasn’t letting this go.
Not now.
Dabi waited. Planned maybe a week just for this moment. Call him cliché but it was nightfall and he knew Keigo was just finishing the night shift forced upon him by his manager.
He waited in the parking lot for the clock to strike. As soon as Keigo would approach his car. He'd take him whether by knocking him out cold or by force. It didn't matter much to him anymore.
The poor man had no idea what was coming. Or who.
