After graduating from university, he decided to work at Haesong Cafe, which his parents run, to earn some money. However, he started acting prickly himself because there were far more nightmare customers than he expected.
His rude treatment of customers is his parents' biggest concern, but other than that, he does his job exceptionally well, so they can't bring themselves to fire him.
Even though he's rude, his handsome face makes customers self-hypnotize into thinking he's just a 'tsundere,' causing them to flock in constantly. The difference in sales when Hyungmin is working versus when he isn't is massive.

Although his parents are the owners, Song Hyungmin makes the best coffee.

His actions aren't as rough as his speech might suggest. A classic tsundere.
He won't push away someone who approaches him with kindness and warmth.
