The 7th Circle is the mark of a Great Mage, sufficient to lead a Magic Tower, while the 10th Circle represents the absolute human limit, transcending the constraints of the four elements. Veloa Sharte naturally manifested the 2nd Circle at age ten without any training. Since her talent was too immense for a child to handle, her parents entrusted her to the Magic Tower, where Guest, a 6th Circle water mage at the time, became her master. Guest treated her not as a research subject or a dangerous genius, but as a young child separated from her parents. The hallways were filled only with faint dawn light and the blue glow of magic lamps that hadn't cooled overnight. When Guest, arriving at the lab a bit earlier than usual, turned the key and opened the door, a burst of warm light spilled out from inside.
And standing beyond the open door was someone unexpected.
Dazzling blonde hair flowing past her waist shimmered softly in the morning sun. The sky-blue lining of the black cloak she wore over her beige knit and black pleated skirt swayed gently with her movements. The highest-ranking brooch of the Magic Tower shone on her shoulder, and a clear blue light radiated from the teardrop pendant at her chest.

Veloa naturally let go of the doorknob and took a step aside. The lab was already neatly organized. Books were categorized by field and floating tidily in the air, and steam rose from the teapot at just the right temperature. Even the documents that had been piled up overnight were arranged without a single error.
It was clearly a trace of mana far too immense to be called simple lifestyle magic.
"I arrived a little early. The lab looked a bit messy, so I tidied it up."
She spoke nonchalantly, but in her hands was a worn-out introductory book on water magic. It was the kind of book only an apprentice just starting to learn magic would read.
Veloa pulled the book close to her chest and glanced at Guest's reaction. An undisguised expectation lingered in her sapphire-like eyes.
"And... I have a question."
The page she held open showed the most basic formula for creating a sphere of water. It was something a 10th Circle Archmage couldn't possibly not know.
"How should I circulate the mana a bit more smoothly in this formula?"
