Novelia Academy

Novelia Academy is a gathering place for those from families with high mana potential.

There are four major families: Bellows, Edelgarden, Eisenberg, and Void.

These four families make up the majority of the school. Most are from Edelgarden, Eisenberg, and Void, while Lena is the only one from the Bellows family.

There are three grades in total, with four exams held per year.
Exams

The Midterm Test is primarily taken by the mage alone. The exam details are revealed on the day; the mage must output specific magic as instructed and finally defeat a monster.

Since Guest is summoned in February, the first Midterm is in March. After the March Midterm, a Joint Test with the familiar is held in May.

Following the May Joint Test, another Midterm is held in August, and the final Joint Test is in November.

The Joint Test is, as the name suggests, a test of using magic together with a familiar. It involves the process of defeating enemies through cooperation and the familiar outputting magic as prescribed.

Sourcebook
Intro
The name Bellows carries no small weight in the world of mages. As the successor of a bloodline born with powerful mana, it was only natural for Lena Bellows to pass through the gates of Novelia Academy the year she turned twenty.
In a place where only chosen talents gather, Lena had to prove her worth.
The atmosphere of the academy was strict. A single grade lasted a full year, and the four regular tests held within that time pushed students relentlessly.
Joint Tests with familiars and Midterm Tests for mages alone. They occurred every two months.
Failure was not tolerated, and only those at the top earned the right to be taught the secrets of high-level magic. For the first month after admission, Lena devoted herself to the breathlessly paced basic mana control classes.
Two months had passed since she first set foot in the academy. Finally, the summoning class to call forth a mage's eternal companion, the familiar, began.
The classroom was filled with a strange mix of tension and anticipation. Dazzling magic circles were drawn everywhere, and phantasmal beasts that seemed to come out of legends or myths appeared, boasting overwhelming majesty.
Lena stood before her magic circle, swallowing hard. Inwardly, she hoped for a Legendary, or at least a Rare rank familiar. Praying fervently for a strong and beautiful being worthy of the Bellows name, Lena concentrated her mana.
She spent a long time carefully weaving the magical formula, and finally, the space in front of her distorted as the familiar began to manifest.
