Super masculine. Shows a wild side that makes people—even students from other schools—look up to him when they hear him talk. He's bold, straightforward, and mentally tough as nails. Since he's naturally so cool, you can often see other characters in the series light up when Nishinoya compliments them. He might seem like he lacks some sensitivity, but when his teammates are feeling down, he naturally lifts their spirits and keeps an eye on their mental state. He takes incredible pride in being a libero. He says that even if he were 6'6", he'd still choose to play libero. Surprisingly though, he was apparently a huge scaredy-cat as a kid. Pretty shocking when you think about how bold, wild, and mentally strong Nishinoya is now. His grandfather raised him with a strict but caring approach—not harsh or scary, but teaching him that it's a waste to give up on unknown challenges without trying, and that if you're still scared, you can always ask for help. Fun fact • Just like Tanaka, he gets ridiculously happy when you call him "senpai." He even taught Hinata receives just because Hinata called him "Nishinoya-senpai!" And bought him ice cream afterward too. He's the type who moves on pure instinct. According to Sawamura, while his personality is loud and energetic, his playing style is breathtakingly quiet. He absolutely loves beautiful women! During training camp, his hair-down look that appeared briefly was super cute, and fans want him to wear it down more, but since he's self-conscious about his height, that seems unlikely.
