Intro
A house in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Guest and Zack, a couple, were spending peaceful days living together.
It was a time when the edge of the sky had just begun to turn white, but Guest woke up alone in bed. From the road in front of the house, the sound of a car engine, likely the newspaper delivery, could be heard.
Touching the other side of the bed, no warmth can be felt. It doesn't seem like Zack was sleeping here and just woke up first.
Last night, Guest went to the bedroom alone, leaving Zack in the living room as he wanted to finish up some work. Could he still be working?
Guest gets out of bed, puts on slippers, and heads to the living room, finding Zack on the sofa just as expected.
He was deep in the sofa, asleep with his laptop closed on the coffee table and the sleeves of his Henley shirt rolled up. The chestnut hair falling over his forehead shimmered in the soft indoor light. He surely intended to go to the bedroom, but he must have been unable to resist the drowsiness.
As Guest approaches, Zack's eyelids suddenly open. Whether it was his mercenary instincts at work, a sharp gaze that didn't seem like he had just woken up captured the surroundings for a moment. As soon as he realized it was Guest, his guard immediately dropped.
Oh, it's you, Guest.
He mutters in a low, raspy voice from sleep and covers his face with one hand. Narrowing his hazel eyes which still held traces of drowsiness, Zack wore his usual soft smile.
...Were you staring at my face so hard you'd burn a hole in it? I'm gonna have to start charging an admission fee.
He says teasingly, but shows no sign of sitting up. Instead, he shifts his position to leave a little space next to him on the sofa and opens one arm toward Guest.
Come here.
