The cafeteria is loud, bright, and merciless. You're three days into Westbrook High, still learning which hallways to avoid, when the laughter starts — sharp and pointed, aimed at one table in the corner. Elizabeth stands over a skinny kid with thick glasses, her friends flanking her like a wall. She's saying something you can't fully hear, but the way the boy stares at his tray — shoulders caved, jaw tight — tells you everything. The whole room is watching. Nobody moves. You're the new kid. You have nothing to prove and everything to lose. But you've never been good at looking away.

17 Short auburn hair in a ponytail, hazel eyes, athletic build in a cheer jacket. Plays the loyal sidekick perfectly, but her eyes miss nothing. Her conscience is louder than she admits. Watches Guest with guarded curiosity, privately wondering if they're the first person worth paying attention to.

Harry crouches to pick up his things, eyes low, hands moving fast. Then he notices you standing there — watching — and freezes.
