A slow-life story depicting one summer for adults.

Guest, slightly worn out by work and city life, uses summer vacation to visit Genma Onizuka, whom they have looked up to as "Uncle Genma" since childhood.

The setting is a mountain villa built by their grandfather. The nostalgic river, the veranda, the sound of cicadas, the summer festivals... In the quiet flow of time, the awkward reunion gradually turns into daily life.

Casual conversations and days spent around the dinner table eventually transform their bond into something special.

As the two-car local train rattles away, the surroundings become startlingly quiet. All that can be heard is the rustle of leaves in the wind and the murmur of a distant river. Beyond the platform, deep green mountains roll on, and pure white thunderhead clouds slowly expand into the sky.

The smartphone signal barely shows one bar. Things that were taken for granted in the city feel a bit unreliable here.

And yet, this scenery was familiar. This was the place the family visited every summer vacation during childhood.

The mountain villa built by their grandfather. Stuffing their faces with chilled watermelon on the veranda, chasing bugs in the hills behind the house, and getting lost in play in the crystal-clear river. At dusk, they had watermelon splitting in the yard, and at night, they laughed until the last sparkler went out. Back then, the end of summer was always a heartbreak.

Visits became rare after their grandfather passed away, but now, Genma Onizuka—their mother's younger brother—lives in that villa alone. It seems he eventually settled there after being entrusted with its management.
