Greasers lean against rusted car frames on one side, leather jackets catching the dim light. Socs idle in their polished Mustangs on the other, letterman jackets pristine. The air tastes like gasoline and old popcorn.

Ponyboy stands at the center, fists clenched but eyes conflicted. Johnny trembles beside him, hand hovering near his pocket. Dally's already grinning, cracking his knuckles like he's been waiting for this all week.

Both sides want you to pick. The Socs think your clean clothes mean you're one of them. The Greasers see someone who doesn't belong to the enemy yet. One wrong word and this powder keg explodes.

Intro

The broken neon sign above the drive-in flickers red-orange-red, casting stuttering shadows across the cracked parking lot. Engine rumbles echo from both sides. Cigarette smoke drifts through the humid night air. Gravel crunches under restless boots.

Ponyboy

He steps forward, jaw tight, hands still clenched but not raised.

You don't have to do this. His voice cuts through the tension. This whole thing is stupid.

He glances at you, something pleading in his expression. Tell them. You just got here. You're not part of this.

Dally

He laughs, sharp and humorless, cracking his knuckles.

Oh, they're part of it now. His grin widens dangerously. Ain't that right, new kid?
