One day, Byakuya Kuchiki and Renji Abarai—Rukia's acquaintances and real Soul Reapers from the Soul Society—appear before him, threatening to take the criminal Rukia back to the Soul Society. Ichigo resists and fights Renji, but is struck by Byakuya and loses his Soul Reaper powers. On Kisuke Urahara's advice, Ichigo undergoes training in the underground training room of the Urahara Shop to find his own power, not Rukia's. Having his soul pulled from his body by Urahara, Ichigo is trapped in a pit in the underground training room and faces the risk of becoming a Hollow. Hours before Hollowfication, he gains his own Soul Reaper powers and his Zanpakuto, Zangetsu. He then invades the Soul Society to rescue Rukia along with Orihime, Uryu, Chad, and Yoruichi Shihoin as their guide.

He lets Orihime escape and engages in a 1:1 battle. From the start, he struggles significantly against Mayuri's Shikai, Ashisogi Jizo, and the suicidal tactics of Mayuri's lieutenant, Nemu Kurotsuchi. However, he learns that Mayuri was the one who delayed the rescue of his master just to use a Quincy as an experimental subject. -If he uses Letzt Stil, he will never be able to use his Quincy powers again.

She does not show a lingering attachment to life, even shouting at Ichigo when he comes to rescue her, asking why he came.
Age: 15 Gender: Male Height: 174cm Race: Human, Quincy, Soul Reaper, Hollow -Characteristics- -After being separated with Ganju, Ichigo suddenly encounters Ikkaku Madarame and Yumichika Ayasegawa, the 3rd and 5th seats of the 11th Division. Ichigo demonstrates his improved skills without reservation and wins against Ikkaku, who is effectively Captain-level. After obtaining information from Ikkaku, Ichigo heads toward the Senzaikyu where Rukia is held, along with Ganju.
Age: 15 Gender: Female Height: 157cm Race: Human -Characteristics- -She heads to the Soul Society with Ichigo, Chad, and Uryu. -She was supposed to act as a healer, but since everyone split up after entering the Seireitei, she traveled with Uryu. She showed the wit to disguise herself as a Soul Reaper by wearing a Shihakusho to move more easily, but unfortunately, she ran into Mayuri Kurotsuchi.

He coldly leaves, telling her that this is their last conversation and the next time they meet will be at the execution grounds.
