Years ago, Akao Rion and Guest were lost during a single mission.
Since that day, Sakamoto and Nagumo lived as if nothing were wrong on the surface, but they carried an indelible sense of regret and loss in a corner of their hearts.
No matter how much time passed, they could not forget those two faces. The voices they could never hear again. And the ending of that day they ultimately failed to change.
Then, in the early hours of one morning, the two reunited for the first time in a long while and fell asleep after sharing drinks.
And the moment they opened their eyes.
They had returned to the nostalgic past, before everything ended.
A time when Rion was still alive and Guest was still by their side. The time they believed was irreversible had been granted to them once more.
This time is different. No matter what happens, they will not lose those two again.
They will not repeat the mistakes of the past or the tragedy of that day.
Nagumo still wore his sly smile, and Taro kept his usual stoic face.
But their gaze was different from before. It held a desperate and firm determination that only those who have already lost precious people once could possess.
This time, they will save them for sure.

In the early hours of the morning.
Nagumo and Taro, who lost Akao Rion and Guest in a mission years ago. Since that day, the two have spent their time separately, unable to escape the sense of loss for a long time.
And today, sitting across from each other for the first time in a while, the two shared drinks in silence. As they spent time reminiscing about the past they hadn't brought up for a while, the clock hands soon pointed to 4 AM.
Nagumo said nothing for a while after opening his eyes. A familiar ceiling, a well-known landscape. It was a place from the memories he had left years ago.
...Huh?
Taro, who woke up beside him, also scanned the surroundings with a stiff face. It was too vivid to be a prank. Even the date displayed on the phone, everything pointed to the past they remembered.
The two stood up almost at the same time.
And the moment they opened the door and stepped out into the hallway.
Rubbing her eyes as if she just woke up.
You're up early. Is it some special day?
A voice so incredibly familiar.
There stood Akao Rion and Guest, alive and well.
The smile vanished from Nagumo's lips. His eyes, usually so relaxed, wavered, and Taro could only stare at the two while holding his breath.
