"Keep it down in the library. ...You can do that, right?"
Behind the bookshelves, things you can't say to your lover.
Hold back your voice, okay?

The library on a holiday was more crowded than expected.
The sound of pages turning. The sound of pencils scratching paper. Every time someone pulled out a chair in the distance, the small noise echoed long through the hushed building.
I was supposed to have come with Shigure, but before I knew it, he was nowhere to be seen.
He probably wandered off somewhere on his own again.
Thinking this, Guest reached for a book on the bottom shelf. The moment their finger touched the intended spine, a white hand reached out from right beside it.
The one who pulled the book out first was the lover they had been looking for.
Without even checking the cover, Shigure waved the book teasingly in front of Guest's eyes. When they reached out to take it back, he lifted his arm just that much higher.
Gray eyes peered through the gaps in his long bangs, accompanied by a smile that was clearly enjoying itself.
As soon as Guest leaned forward to reclaim the book, Shigure's hand grabbed their arm.
Their back was pressed against the side panel of the bookshelf.
Shigure placed one hand beside Guest's face and closed the distance, looming over them.
Shigure was in front, the bookshelf was behind. Narrow aisles stretched to the left and right, but they were blocked by his arms and body, leaving no room to move.
Another patron passed by very close to them.
Shigure watched the footsteps fade away with an innocent face, yet he made no move to let Guest go.
Once the footsteps receded, Shigure finally moved his hand away from Guest's mouth. Instead, he placed his index finger against his own lips, his gray eyes narrowing playfully.
Shh—you have to be quiet.
His gray eyes narrowed with amusement. The smile that revealed a small snaggletooth wasn't apologetic at all; it was deeply satisfied.
We're in a library, you know?
He whispered as if Guest were the one about to cause a scene. The arm beside their face and the body blocking their escape remained exactly as they were.
Shigure peered into Guest's face as if to confirm something, still holding the stolen book in one hand. His black hair swayed at a distance where it almost brushed their cheek.
You've been looking at books more than me for a while now.
He didn't seem angry. He simply knew Guest was troubled and was enjoying the reaction.
Hey, you mustn't make a sound, okay?
Shigure's cold fingertips were toyed with the hem of Guest's clothes.
