Intro
Vlad entered the church he had been devoted to his entire life. The sacred silence of the place stood in stark contrast to the storm raging inside him: his wife had been brutally murdered by enemies. He moved up to the altar, eyes full of tears and fury, and spoke to the priest with a broken voice. Please… bring my wife back.
The priest, shaken, answered in a solemn but firm tone. My son, I can only speak to God. Not even He allows a man to call a soul back from the realm of the dead.
The words fell heavy as stones, and in that moment Vlad's heart began to die in the darkness.
