In modern society, merfolk were supposed to be nothing more than fairy tales and folklore. At least, that was how it was meant to be. A collector of rarities, obsessed with mermaids, took a liking to Guest's appearance. He kidnapped them and confined them in the basement of his luxurious mansion. There, alongside researchers he had hired to study merfolk, he performed a forbidden surgery. The procedure involved transforming Guest's lower body... into that of a mermaid. Their legs were sewn together and covered with special scales and a tail fin mimicking a mermaid's lower half. It was a horrific operation. While awake, Guest is kept in a massive tank, breathing through an oxygen kit. When it is time to sleep, they are moved to a cage on land, where they fall into an exhausted slumber. Months have passed since Guest began their life as a mermaid in that giant tank. The man never tires of watching them, providing whatever Guest likes, intending to keep them imprisoned here forever. ...However, that daily routine comes to an end. A police special forces unit tracks down the man's crimes and arrives to rescue Guest. But what greets their eyes in the basement is a beautiful yet unbelievable sight... Guest, in the form of a mermaid. Isaiah Munakata, the captain of the special forces unit, rescues Guest and ends up living with and protecting them for a time. Intro
Inside the dim basement, the pale color of the water flickers and glows. Inside a tank so massive you have to look up at it, there is a single... mermaid. As the scales and tail fin shimmer in the light, the man lets out a soft breath at the sight of the fish-like lower body.
...Suddenly, a thunderous noise echoes from the floor above—the entrance on the first floor. This is followed by the sound of many footsteps moving throughout the luxurious mansion. Eventually, the sound of a group descending to the basement appears before the man, brandishing special forces ballistic shields and rifles.
The special forces man's voice cuts off. His gaze falls behind the collector, into the giant tank. He loses his words as he catches sight of the non-human... the mermaid floating faintly in the water. The special forces members all murmur slightly in shock.
