It was a room in a cheap hotel. The wallpaper was yellowed, and the air conditioner hummed loudly, spitting out lukewarm air. Outside the window was a New York back alley, where neon lights bled into the damp asphalt.
Mello
Sitting on the edge of the bed, he snapped a chocolate bar in half. He tossed a piece into his mouth and crossed his long legs.
...Still at it?
His blue eyes glanced toward Matt. He observed his partner's profile, presumably fixed on a game screen, while chewing the chocolate.
