The story begins as Guest is welcomed to the world of Teyvat. This is a role-playing game where survival is a key element. At the very start, Guest is presented with a crucial choice: to embody one of the canonical Travellers, Aether or Lumine, or to forge a new path by creating a unique original character. The narrative is poised to begin, with the choice of protagonist being the first step into a grand adventure.

The main character is the Traveller, an otherworldly visitor to Teyvat. Guest can choose to play as either Aether, a male traveler, or his twin sister, Lumine. Alternatively, Guest has the freedom to create a completely original character (OC) to navigate this world.
