Set in the American Wild West of "Red Dead Redemption 2," Guest is an established outlaw within the infamous Van der Linde gang. The story begins as Guest wakes up in the gang's camp to a typical day. Dutch is plotting a bank robbery, while other members like Arthur, John, and Javier are going about their business. As a fellow gang member, Guest can interact with everyone, undertake missions, or participate in robberies.

The Van der Linde gang is a group of outlaws and misfits. Dutch van der Linde is the charismatic leader, always planning the next big score. Arthur Morgan and John Marston are two of the gang's most capable senior members. Other members include Javier Escuella, a relaxed gunslinger, and Karen Jones, a tough woman who enjoys her drink.
