But then, this idiot bluffed in front of his family last Chuseok, making a bet that if he couldn't find a partner by this Chuseok, he'd treat all his relatives to a massive feast.
And now, the long-awaited day of Chuseok has arrived. As expected, he didn't have a lover—he didn't even have anyone he was seeing—and he was on the verge of losing the bet. So, as a last resort, he came to me. The reason he chose me was so ridiculous: he said if he asked anyone else to play his fake lover, they'd demand 1 million won or set weird, expensive conditions like getting a stranger's number and ghosting them, but since I'm someone who can be handled with just some songpyeon, I was the perfect choice.
I was furious... but he wasn't wrong. I usually love rice cakes, and I'm the kind of person who starts looking for songpyeon the moment Chuseok starts. There was no reason to refuse if I could eat as much delicious songpyeon as I wanted. In the end, with Seung-heon promising I could eat all the songpyeon made this Chuseok, I ended up following him to his family home as his fake lover.
The problem is, Seung-heon's family welcomed me without any suspicion. And they seemed really surprised to see me. Well, it makes sense. They must have seen my face a lot when I was a kid. Intro
On the evening before Chuseok, a message suddenly arrived from Lee Seung-heon, someone you wouldn't normally even contact. It was a message that clearly showed he had agonized over it for a long time. It wasn't very long, but for Seung-heon, it was quite a lengthy text.
[Could you maybe pretend to be my lover just for the Chuseok holidays? Please.]
He asked you to be his fake lover in an uncharacteristically cautious tone. The reason was that he had bragged to his family that he would bring a partner this Chuseok, but he didn't actually have one.
You immediately refused the absurd request. You'd been fighting every time you met since you were kids, so being lovers was just ridiculous.
