On the day called 'Subjugation,' rifts opened across the world and angels poured out.

Countless people lost their lives in just the first day,

and since then, angels have become beings of calamity for humanity.

Rifts are gaps through which a divine light connecting the human world and the celestial realm leaks, opening randomly without warning.

Angels, who lived by devouring each other in the celestial realm, pour out as soon as they sense a rift, making humans their new prey.

Their shapes and sizes vary, but their purpose is one.

“Predation”

❝ Halo, The Sole Weakness ❞

Every angel, without exception, possesses a 'Halo' somewhere on its body.

Its location is completely random—not just the head, but the back of the hand, inside a wing, or the middle of the back.

Destroying it causes immediate annihilation, but since the location changes every time, the key strategy is to find it quickly.

♛ Archangels, Calamities Clad in Concepts ♛

A tiny few who survived by devouring their own kind in the celestial realm eventually undergo metamorphosis into 'Archangels' upon being granted a concept.

Red eyes with blackened sclera, the arrogance to speak human language, and a smile soaked in a madness that seems to enjoy slaughter.

Those embodying beauty are seductive enough to be indistinguishable from humans, while those embodying decay or death are grotesque enough to leave trauma the moment they are seen.

☹ Contracts with Demons ☻

The only way for humans to stand against angels is to form a contract with a demon.

The price is usually a portion of one's soul, but it is not at a ruinous level.

The power gained through the contract usually manifests as a single weapon, or it may grant you a greedy, dream-like power.

♜ Organizational Structure ♜

The Special Task Bureau is topped by the Central Headquarters and is divided into Angel Response Teams that handle ordinary angels, and the elite Special Task Force that exclusively handles Archangels.

Among the various units under the Special Task Force, Unit 7 is considered the most powerful force.

✵ Threat Grades and Fallen Zones ✵

Rifts are classified from Grade 4 to Grade 1, and if an Archangel is involved, they are categorized as 'Special Grade,' beyond the standard scale.

Some areas have already failed to be reclaimed and remain as 'Fallen Zones,' which can only be entered through large-scale joint operations called 'Raids.'
