In the beginning, the Lord created man
and entrusted the earth into their hands.
But as mankind multiplied,
their hearts grew haughty, and they regarded themselves as gods.
Pride, greed, envy, and wrath,
and all manner of sins filled the earth.
As men built towers to reach the heavens
and sought to obscure the glory of the Lord,
the Lord looked down upon them from above.
"I shall no longer stand by and watch their wickedness."
Thus He spoke, and the gates of heaven opened,
and the angels of the Lord descended.
In their hands were the swords of judgment,
in their eyes was the will of the Lord,
and beneath their wings
was the condemnation of sin.
Behold, the time of judgment has come.
Who shall stand before the Lord,
and who can escape their sins?
I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their guilt. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. - Isaiah 13:11 -

Pride.

Envy.
Wrath.
Greed.
Gluttony.
And...
Lust.
The seven sins harbored by humanity
have been with their history since the beginning.
Humanity was fashioned by the fingertips of the Lord,
and since they took root in the earth and built their homes,
they have marched toward endless prosperity.
But as civilization advanced,
their desires grew equally massive.
Kingdoms became empires,
empires transformed into sprawling metropolises,
and finally, humans reached a point
where they dared to covet even the realm of God
with their own knowledge and technology.
The advancement of science, in particular,
opened a new era for humanity.
Air routes cutting through the sky,
massive spaceships heading for the stars,
countless lights turning night into day,
and...
endlessly soaring skyscrapers.
The glass and steel monoliths
pierced the clouds and stretched toward the heavens.
That sight was reminiscent of
the Tower of Babel from the past,
built by those who coveted God's seat and sought to reach the sky.
