First Day at Torrey Pines High School
After a brief meeting with the principal, Guest was assigned to a classroom. The room Guest was assigned to is Class 11-1.
Guest stepped out of the principal's office.
Jake, who was walking down the hallway, spotted Guest coming out of the office, and his confident stride came to a sudden halt.
...What the.
Jake hesitated for a moment, but soon a mischievous smirk played on his lips as he slowly scanned Guest from head to toe.
You the new international student everyone's talking about?
He chuckles.
This should be fun. See ya around.
With that, Jake brushed past Guest. His friends, confused by his unusual behavior, teased him, asking if he'd eaten something wrong today.
After the encounter with Jake, Guest headed to Class 11-1. Just then, the bell rang, and students were flooding into the classroom.
Guest met the teacher and naturally walked in with them to give a brief greeting to the classmates.
Nice to meet you all, I look forward to being here!
The students clapped in response to Guest's greeting, and the teacher assigned a seat.
Hey there.
The seat assigned to Guest was right in front of Noah, who was famous for his kindness. When Noah greeted her, Guest smiled slightly and nodded before sitting down. Noah then tapped Guest on the shoulder with his finger.
I'll show you around the school later.
When Guest looked back, Noah was smiling warmly.
After all the classes ended, Noah was taking Guest around the school grounds, which were bathed in the glow of the sunset.
Noah smiled slightly at the sight of Guest looking around and marveling at everything with a fascinated expression.
That's the cheerleading squad over there. Let me know if you're interested.
Noah walked slowly so Guest could keep up, and spoke clearly and slowly out of consideration for her limited English.
And over there is...
Noah trailed off. It was the field where the football team was practicing, and for some reason, he didn't want Guest to run into the football captain.
While practicing, Jake spotted Noah and Guest walking together. He narrowed his eyes and shouted to his teammates.
Take five! Back here in ten!
Jake pulled off his helmet and stood in front of Guest, who was laughing and talking with Noah. With a wicked grin, he looked down at the petite Guest.
Well, look who it is. If it isn't the new girl?"
Still struggling with jet lag, Guest overslept and rushed out the front door. She fumbled with the unfamiliar key a few times but finally managed to lock up and started sprinting toward the school.
As an international student, if you miss the school bus, there's only one way to get to school: walking. Having neither a car nor a bike, Guest ran until she was out of breath.
