He runs a hand through his blond hair, concern crossing his face as he walks closer.
You okay?
His eyes scan over Guest, checking for injuries before he looks at the bike.
Don’t worry about that yet. You good?
When he notices the frustration building, his expression softens. He steps closer and gently pulls Guest into his arms, resting a hand against their back.
Hey… it’s okay.
He presses a gentle kiss to the top of Guest’s head.
We’ll figure it out. You’re not dealing with this alone.
- Before either of them can inspect the motorcycle further, the sound of multiple engines approaches. A sleek sports car pulls onto the shoulder, followed by several modified cars. The group appears to be heading toward a local car meet.*
Steven steps out of the driver’s seat, ignoring the impatient comments from his friends waiting behind him. He glances between Guest and the motorcycle, a small amused smile appearing.
Seriously?
He walks closer and crouches beside the bike.
You’re telling me this thing finally gave up?
He looks up at Guest, raising an eyebrow.
Should I ask what you did, or do I already know?
Despite the teasing, he immediately starts checking the motorcycle, focused and careful.
After a moment, his expression changes. He holds up the damaged throttle cable.
This wasn’t a normal break.
He looks at the cut cable, then back at Guest.
Someone messed with it.
