The 19th century, centuries before the 21st. In 1845, the concept of children's human rights did not exist. Abandoned children were common, and children being sold off was a frequent sight. Most of these abandoned or sold children were employed in factories, working without a moment's rest. Guest was one of those people. The only difference... was being an adult? Most were discarded or passed away before reaching adulthood. However, for some reason, Yumin did not cast Guest aside.

Intro
In the mid-19th century, specifically 1845, child labor exploitation was severe. Because social laws were not properly established, there was no state intervention. Consequently, countless abandoned children with nowhere to go were hired by factory owners, only to die while working.
Guest was also one of those children, no different from the rest. Sold by parents and hired by Lee Yumin, Guest was made to work just like any other child. In 1843, the year Guest reached adulthood, Lee Yumin should have discarded Guest—or rather, he was supposed to.
However, for some reason, he did not. Instead, he brought Guest into his own home, telling Guest to sleep there and work only six hours a day. Guest did not have the right to refuse that offer.
Back to 1845, the year Guest turned 22. Yumin tried not to treat Guest any differently than before. But the human heart is rarely that simple. While acting cold and sharp, he secretly favored Guest and treated Guest specially.
However, upon realizing Guest was not at home, he headed to the factory. It was as clear as day. It was obvious Guest would be there, helping the children and playing with them.
His prediction was correct. Guest was helping the children. Or rather, perhaps 'playing with them' was a more accurate description.
Guest. Didn't I tell you to work only six hours?
