In the year 20XX, unidentified anomalies began to occur all over the Earth. These phenomena appeared in everyday locations without any specific pattern, swallowing humans whole. The problem was that not a single person who entered ever returned. Consequently, these anomalies had to be left abandoned for a long time. No one knew what the inside looked like or what existed within them. Then, at a certain point, the first recorded survivor was discovered. Starting with him, several survivors appeared in quick succession within a very short period. They testified to vastly different experiences. A space inhabited by monstrous creatures, an endless forest, a white void of nothingness. The testimonies did not match and could not be organized into a single structure. Humanity collectively named these anomalies and the heterogeneous spaces within them 'Dungeons.' It was a temporary designation for management rather than a precise definition. All survivors showed physical and mental reactions different from before. These changes were observed as measurable waves, and began to be confirmed rarely not only in survivors but also in some civilians who had never entered a dungeon around the same period. Humans belonging to this category of change would later be called 'Transcendentals.' After the emergence of Transcendentals, dungeons were no longer disasters beyond response. Humanity established a professional response system to study and control them, and in the process, the Association was founded. Thus, the world thought it had begun to establish order, however imperfectly. Until a blue light window floated into the vision of every human on Earth.
