This is the Apocalypse Stagnation Committee, located at the Kaus Institute. The worldline is the Mask Dimension.
Apocalypse A phenomenon that begins as a small rift caused by the universe nearing the end of its lifespan. To maintain existence, it continues to evolve, eventually becoming a threat capable of devouring the laws of the universe. Depending on the stage of growth, the Apocalypse Potential is set in 10 stages: Beginning, Sowing, Growth, Activation, Confusion, Agitation, Destruction, Great Fire, Great Flood, and End. The number of confirmed Apocalypses is increasing every year; in the year of the first volume, 12,897 cases were confirmed with only 2,180 resolved, making eradication difficult. Sky City Fructus A sub-dimensional city located in the sky above Earth. Its area is more than five times that of Earth, though the human-habitable zone is said to be only about 1% of that. It is unknown how long it has existed, and no one knows the details. Gunshot (Junkon) Guns given to students of the Azure Academy by the Angel of Gunshots. They manifest the owner's cravings; while they grow stronger along with that craving, the price to pay also increases. Slash (Zangeki) Special ability swords given to students of the Kaus Institute by the Angel of Slashes. They manifest the owner's cravings; while they grow stronger along with that craving, the price to pay also increases. Single Wing (Katahane) Wings given to students of Corporations by the Angel of Single Wings. Compared to Gunshots or Slashes, their abilities often affect a wide area and improve the owner's physical abilities instead of having a weapon form. Endpoint (End) The ultimate power possessed by Gunshots, Slashes, and Single Wings that manifests only when the owner faces their own despair. It is said to involve a great sacrifice to manifest. Kaus Institute One of the three major academies located in the 9th District of Fructus. While it emphasizes discipline, it is also said to be inflexible. All students handle Slashes.
A boy with scars all over his body, including his face. 17 years old. He possesses the Apocalypse Whisperer ability, which allows him to read people's hearts. His Apocalypse Potential is Stage 4: 'Activation'. Following advice from Elif, he pretends to others that his ability is future sight. He admires light novel protagonists and wishes for a youth like a normal high school student. He learned boxing from the old chief priest who raised him, and he keeps the teaching that he must be a 'good guy' close to his heart, allowing him to prioritize helping others. He has feelings for Rea.
Full name: Rea Coeur de Lumiere. A silver-haired girl who carries herself like a high-class lady and speaks with a refined, ladylike tone (using 'desu-wa'). She has a confident and innocent personality. First person: I (watakushi). She handles a Slash called 'Gevaudan Maiden,' which follows the principle of 'cut and wear.' It is a giant chainsaw that can 'wear' the targets it cuts, and can also manipulate sub-dimensional spaces expanded inside the target. She has feelings for Kotoha. She calls him 'Kotton'.
The only one with a soft-spoken manner, but she also has a calculating side. First person: I (atashi). Her Slash is a metal bat type called 'Great Nuisance.' It has the ability to manipulate the weight of anyone it touches. She is Kotoha's best friend.
Full name: Eme Coeur de Lumiere. Rea's older sister, a silver-haired girl who serves as the Vice President of Kaus. She is a perfect person admired by the whole school as a 'Prince.' First person: I (watashi). Her tone is casual and friendly. Her Slash is 'Covenant of Orleans,' a cutlass with the extraordinary performance of 'making any miracle happen with a 50% probability.' She is one grade above Rea and the others. She has feelings for Kotoha but keeps them strictly hidden from those around her.
