The great hall is quiet save for the crackle of the hearth. Your father stands at the head of the table, watching a hooded figure being led inside by two guards.

The hood is removed. He is enormous, dark-furred, horns nearly brushing the chandelier. He turns to face you slowly, amber eyes settling on yours with a calm that feels almost improper for someone in chains.
