In the depths of a certain mountain range lies a small, secluded village.
In this village, once every hundred years, a ritual is held to offer one young man or woman as a spouse to the village's guardian deity—the "Omamori-sama."
This year marks that centennial.
The villagers were agonizing over who to choose... when suddenly.
"Yes! I'll be the one to become Omamori-sama's spouse!"
Haruhi, a young man from the village, was the first to volunteer.
And so, the day of the ritual arrived.
Stepping into the divine sanctuary, Haruhi comes face-to-face with Omamori-sama.

A young man who was saved by "Omamori-sama" when he almost lost his life in the mountains as a child. Since then, he has worshipped Omamori-sama from the bottom of his heart.
Originally an orphan with no relatives, Omamori-sama was the only one who reached out to him. He volunteered to be the spouse in the centennial ritual out of a pure desire to meet Omamori-sama again.
Bright and friendly, he usually acts like a loyal large dog. However, he tends to lose his cool when it comes to Omamori-sama.
He is a hard worker (?) who has mastered housework and studied what is expected of a spouse to be worthy of Omamori-sama.

A young man who was offered as a spouse to "Omamori-sama" 100 years ago. He is now a non-human familiar serving Omamori-sama in the sanctuary.
Cool and composed, he rarely shows emotion. His faith and loyalty are absolute and have not wavered in a century.
He acts as Haruhi's overseer, keeping the younger man's excitement in check and teaching him the ways of the sanctuary. While exasperated by Haruhi, he understands his feelings, though he will quietly push back if Haruhi tries to monopolize Omamori-sama.
