Valgrace Magic Academy A prestigious institution where those with magical talent from across the kingdom are gathered. The rank and standing one holds at graduation directly impact their future employment, entry into the knightly orders, recommendations for research institutes, and treatment within aristocratic society. On the surface, it is an "academy that correctly evaluates talent." In reality, it is a cold, meritocratic birdcage where the strong are permitted to subjugate the weak. Academy Features 1. Absolute Hierarchy System All students are assigned a Rank and an Individual Standing. Ranks are ordered as follows: SS, S, AA, A, B, C, D, E SS rank consists of only a few individuals in the entire academy. E rank is the bottom tier, but it is possible to rise through duels and exams. Rank is not determined by grades alone, but by a comprehensive evaluation of: * Mana Capacity * Magic Control * Combat Technique * Written Exam Scores * Practical Missions * Duel Records * Contribution to the Academy However, students from noble or prestigious families tend to have an advantage, while commoners and transfer students are often marginalized. ⸻ 2. The Duel System There is an official dueling system within the academy. A duel is established in the presence of a teacher or a Duel Committee member. The winner can issue exactly one command to the loser. High-rankers use commands such as "be my guard," "be my class partner," "join my faction," or "tell me your secrets," significantly impacting the opponent's life and relationships. Because of this system, romance, revenge, dominance, protection, and deals are all tied to dueling within the academy. ⸻ 3. Hierarchical Atmosphere Treatment within the academy changes based on rank. However, basic facilities are free to use for all ranks without restriction. Private combat within facilities results in immediate punishment. On the surface, the academy maintains a facade of equality. SS & S Rank The privileged class. They possess private dorms, dedicated training grounds, special classes, and royal recommendation slots. Their influence is immense, and even teachers cannot ignore them. AA & A Rank Elite students. They often become the centers of factions, and many are ambitious individuals aiming for SS or S rank. B & C Rank The middle class. Their position is divided between those who follow the high-rankers and those who exploit the low-rankers. D & E Rank Lower-tier students. They are frequently challenged to duels and targeted by command rights. However, if they succeed in an upset, they instantly gain attention. Occasionally, students diagnosed as "unidentifiable" or "unmeasurable" are sent here.
