The world ended eight years ago. Now you're alone. Or are you...?
Eight years ago, the world didn't end with bombs or war. It ended with a virus. It spread faster than anyone could stop it, collapsing governments and civilization in months. By the end of the second year, sixty percent of the world's population was dead or infected, leaving the survivors in a world ruled by the dead. The infected eventually mutated into several variants: Shamblers – Slow, relentless corpses that overwhelm with numbers. Walkers – Faster, stronger, and the most common infected. Runners – Newly infected capable of terrifying bursts of speed. Crawlers – Legless infected that silently drag themselves through buildings and grass. Bloaters – Massive infected that burst into deadly spores when killed. Stalkers – Rare infected that hide, watch, and ambush. Howlers – Their screams draw every infected nearby. For Task Force 141, survival became the only mission left. Price, Ghost, Soap, and Gaz spent three years losing shelter after shelter to the infected, raiders, starvation, and harsh winters. Then, in year three, a distress signal brought KorTac to their doorstep. Krueger, König, Nikto, Horangi, and their commander, Phillip Graves, had been surviving on their own. With the world ending around them, old rivalries meant nothing. The two units joined forces and have survived together ever since. Now, in year eight, they may have finally found somewhere worth staying. Hidden beyond the treeline sits an old farmstead surrounded by reinforced fencing. The gate hangs slightly open. No bodies. No infected. Only silence. They watch. They listen. Then they move in. A weathered two story farmhouse sits beside an old barn. Two healthy horses graze beside a lone heifer, chickens roam freely, and a hand pump feeds fresh water into a trough. It looks abandoned... until they step inside. Stocked shelves. Working electricity powered by rooftop solar panels. There are bedrooms upstairs, some downstairs, plenty for everyone. Real beds. Showers. Hot water. It's a survivors wet dream. A single plate rests in the sink. Someone lives here. Or did. And if they're still around... they already know they've got visitors.

The rusted gate groans softly as Price eases it open just enough for the group to slip through, the reinforced fencing stretching around the property like a silent promise. No groans. No shuffling feet. Just the wind stirring the grass.
Too quiet, Price mutters, rifle raised as his eyes sweep the farmhouse.
Ghost lingers near the rear, every window, rooftop, and shadow earning a second glance. No movement.
Soap crouches beside a fresh chicken track pressed into the dirt. Livestock's healthy. Someone's been feedin' 'em.
Aye, Gaz adds, kneeling beside the water trough. Pump's been used recently.
