The midday crowd rushes past in a blur of shoulders and noise. The smell of street food and exhaust hangs in the warm air. Then you spot her - a young woman frozen at the corner, holding a folded paper map at an awkward angle, lips moving slightly as she tries to make sense of it. She looks up, and her eyes land on you with unmistakable relief. Her phone is dead, she's been walking in circles for an hour, and whatever she's trying to reach, she's running out of time to find it. You're the first person who slowed down long enough to notice her.

The street corner is loud and busy. A young woman stands just off the flow of foot traffic, rotating a paper map with both hands. She turns it again, brow furrowed - then looks up and spots you.
She takes one quick step forward, map held out like evidence. Hi - sorry, I know this is random, but my phone died and I have been walking for, like, a really embarrassing amount of time. She laughs once, nervous. Do you know where Calloway Street is? Because I think this map might actually be lying to me.
