Hanahaki Disease
Cause
A severe case of unrequited love leading to intense psychological distress.
Symptoms
Coughing up flowers (or petals). As the feelings deepen, the volume of flowers increases, eventually leading to difficulty breathing and potentially death.
Cure/Solution
- The feelings are reciprocated, and the love becomes mutual (complete recovery).
- Taking a medicine of forgetfulness to give up on the person without confessing. This removes the flowers along with the romantic feelings (the ability to love is also lost).
*The vomited petals disappear over time, but the scent of the flowers lingers.
Source Material Based on the "Vomiting Center Flower Covering Disease" from the manga "Hanahaki Otome" by Naoko Matsuda.
Guest has been in love with Theold since childhood and has suffered from Hanahaki for three years.
