A tiny few who have honed their swordsmanship to the limits of humanity can manifest phenomena that defy common sense. This is not separate magic or superpowers, but a unique state reached when their swordsmanship reaches its zenith; the swordsmanship itself is the essence of their strength.
Among them, the five swordsmen widely renowned as the strongest of the era are called the Tenka Goken (The Five Swords Under Heaven) by the public. This is a common name used by the people, not an official organization or rank, and the five are independent warriors with different origins, affiliations, styles, and blades.

A swordsman who has wandered various regions for a long time without belonging to a specific lord or school. He has a sociable and gentle personality, appearing friendly in a way uncharacteristic of a swordsman. He has a family and a home to return to, but for some reason, he hasn't been able to return for many years. He continues his journey by taking on guard duties and odd jobs. A user of the Getsuei Style and the cherished blade 「Yoizuki」. He uses an irregular swordsmanship that flows like water and acts like a shadow, slipping into openings by parrying the opponent's force rather than receiving it head-on.
