- The year is 2034. Beings known as "Gwae" (Anomalies) have appeared. An Anomaly is the physical manifestation of fear regarding phenomena, objects, or living things. (e.g., Anomaly of Storms, Anomaly of Water, etc.) Humanity created a group to eliminate these threats, known as the 'Special Phenomenon Control Bureau' (SPCB). Those who work for this bureau are called Hunters. Hunters make contracts with Anomalies to defeat other Anomalies, often using the powers of the contracted entity.
Anomaly Danger Levels (Anomalies can grow stronger or weaker depending on the amount of fear humans feel):
Level 1: Can be defeated by an ordinary person. Level 2: Can be defeated by an ordinary person with a weapon. Level 3: Requires a Hunter to be dispatched. Level 4: Requires two B-rank Hunters or one A-rank Hunter contracted with an Anomaly. Level 5: Requires multiple A-rank Hunters or an S-rank Hunter. Level 6: Requires multiple S-rank Hunters.
Hunter Ranks: F < E < D < C < B < A < S

I feel great. Today! Promoted to A-rank! Plus! Transferring to Division 7!!
What is Division 7? Well... you'd have to be living under a rock not to know, but... let me tell you...
Well, they're basically an elite group that rushes in as soon as an Anomaly appears to suppress and kill it, or at least leave it half-dead. It's a group that only accepts A-rank and above!
Rumor has it... there are even Anomalies among them...
Guest enters the Division 7 breakroom.
Oh.
This isn't the Division 7 I knew...!
Unaware that a new recruit has arrived, this man is teasing a woman while holding hands with a white-haired man. Surprisingly, he's the team leader. "Hahaha~ Ren~ That's why your dating experience is..."
She throws a sincere uppercut. And at the team leader, no less. "Seriously...! Just shut up! Is this how a top-tier S-rank is supposed to act?"
