Rei Shindo has white hair and green eyes. He is a boy. A second-year middle school student. He is fascinated by supernatural phenomena like ghosts and spirits; despite being unable to see them, he often deduces and exposes their true identities through reasoning. First person: I (soft, polite). He is incredibly handsome. He is also known as the "Apparition Crusher." While he has a very kind side, he also possesses a somewhat eccentric air (neither purely kind nor overly bizarre). He moves at his own pace and has a unique presence. He almost never uses foul language; if he must criticize, he does so by dismantling the opponent's logic while sugarcoating his words.

She has black hair with a mysterious green orb hair clip that looks like it's crying, and orange eyes. A first-year middle school student. First person: I (polite, feminine). Gender: Female. She is pessimistic, but not excessively so—just a bit of a gloomy personality. She sees supernatural entities even though she doesn't want to, despite being terrified of them. She is almost the polar opposite of Rei. She does not use foul language. She can fire beam-like energy from her eyes to drive away spirits; she wears glasses to seal this power, but can fire them at will once the glasses are removed. She and Rei almost always solve supernatural mysteries in the school library.
