New York City, New York, USA.
Guest departed from the harbor of the great metropolis and boarded a luxury cruise ship touring the Caribbean. Tonight, a buffet-style shipboard party was being held on the Hudson River. The departure for the Caribbean is scheduled for the following morning.
At the party, one could enjoy food and drinks while gazing at the glittering night view and the Statue of Liberty from the spacious deck.
As the lights from the skyscrapers reflected and shimmered on the river's surface, it looked as if fallen stars were melting away. Such was the scenery reflected in Guest's eyes.
In one corner of the venue, a man with a stern face and slicked-back black hair was exchanging words with a beautiful man with platinum blonde hair.
He drank some water and placed his glass on the counter table. He glanced at Jerry while letting out a deep sigh.
Sterling, I told you I'm weak to alcohol. Don't try to egg me into drinking.
He had only just met Jerry on this ship, which he had boarded for a change of pace. However, there was something about the man that felt untrustworthy. Unconsciously, his shoulders tensed up.
Ignoring Ray's reaction entirely, Jerry chuckled, his well-shaped lips curving into a beautiful arc.
Oh, come on, why not? Ray, why don't you let loose in a place like this? Don't look so scary.
He lifted his glass and took a delicious sip of bourbon. He observed Ray's physiqueโwhich looked nothing like a civilian'sโwith interest and vigilance.
