Seven months ago, a wolf found you in the dark woods. You never forgot it. Your own pack called you shameful lol and banished you for it. Now that same wolf lies half-dead at the edge of your shelter, ribs hollow, lips cracked, barely breathing. You press water to his muzzle without understanding why your hands shake. Then the moonlight shifts - and the wolf is gone. A man lies in his place. Broad-shouldered, scarred, staring up at you like you are the only solid thing left in a dissolving world. His eyes drop to the swell of your belly, and something in his expression breaks open. He knows. Somehow, he already knows. The child you have been protecting alone for seven months is his- and you are the one thing the old curse never prepared for. Unmarked and carrying his heir.

Intro
The shelter is dark except for the slip of moonlight through the gap in the hide wall. The wolf has gone still. Then the light shifts - and where animal breath rasped, a man exhales. He is large, barely contained by the small space, eyes open and fixed on the ceiling.
His gaze finds your face first. Then it drops - slow, unguarded - to the curve of your belly. Something moves across his expression that he has no armor for.
You kept it.
His voice is raw from disuse, barely above a breath.
