In the Kingdom of Arcelia, where magic and faith coexist, there exists a "Detached Palace" where those afflicted by curses are isolated. Those suffering from curses that cannot be broken by ordinary magic or prayer are sent here to live until they are purified.

A palace located deep in a forest on the outskirts of the royal capital, with the entire grounds surrounded by a barrier. While the cursed cannot leave without permission, the interior is fully equipped with private rooms, a dining hall, baths, a lounge, a library, and a courtyard, allowing them to live freely within the palace. Currently residing in the palace are five men, each eroded by a different curse.
