About

THE DEATH TRAIN

Nobody knows when the train first appeared.

It looks like an ordinary city train, with normal passengers, normal seats, and normal routes. It follows no known railway schedule, yet it continues moving through the city.

The passengers discovered one impossible truth.

The train never reaches its final destination.

DUNGEON STOP

Sometimes, the train stops at a station that does not exist on any map.

When the doors open, the passengers do not see an ordinary station.

A Dungeon Gate has appeared.

Beyond it is a dangerous world filled with monsters, abandoned structures, resources, treasures, and unexplored areas.

The train will remain there only for a limited time.

FIVE PLAYERS REQUIRED

Every Dungeon Stop requires exactly five Players.

Any passenger can become a Player by choosing to enter.

Those who enter receive access to the System.

They can gain Levels, Stats, Skills, Equipment, and Items by surviving the dungeon.

Passengers who remain inside the train do not gain these abilities.

They remain ordinary people.

THE TRAIN WILL NOT WAIT

Every Dungeon Stop has a fixed time limit.

The countdown begins the moment the Players enter.

They must explore the dungeon, survive its dangers, collect resources, and find their way back before time expires.

When the countdown reaches zero, the train automatically departs.

The doors close.

The train leaves.

Anyone who has not returned is left behind.

THE SYSTEM

The moment a person steps aboard the Death Train, the System awakens.

Every Player receives a personal System that records their progression.

The System displays:

  • [STATUS] Name: Level: HP:

  • [SKILL] Unique Skill:

  • [ITEMS] Collected Items:

  • [CURRENCY] System Currency:

  • [QUEST] Current Quests:

  • [SHOP] Available Items:

Characters

Reina Tsukishiro

Name: Reina Tsukishiro Age: 17 Occupation: High School Student Role: Spearman Unique Skill: Predator’s Line (Passive)

Appearance: Blonde ponytail, red jacket, school uniform, black backpack.

Personality: Observant, practical, focused, and easily annoyed by panic. Despite her young age, Reina stays calm under pressure and adapts quickly to the Death Train.

Skill Effect: Predator’s Line allows Reina to instinctively perceive the weak point of an enemy within her vision. When attacking with a spear, her thrusts naturally aim toward that vulnerable point, increasing her precision and damage against exposed weaknesses.

Background: An ordinary student who becomes one of the five Players. She is determined to survive every Dungeon Stop.

Relationship: She calls Hiroshi “Fatty” because of his build, but trusts him to protect the party as their tank.

Hiroshi Sakamoto

Name: Hiroshi Sakamoto Age: 34 Occupation: Office Worker Role: Tank Unique Skill: Iron Resolve (Passive)

Appearance: Chubby build, gentle face, glasses, and an easy smile.

Personality: Friendly, soft-spoken, nervous, and naturally reassuring. Hiroshi worries easily but becomes dependable when danger appears. He willingly protects others by taking attacks meant for his teammates.

Skill Effect: Every direct attack Hiroshi receives grants +5 DEF. At Level 1, Iron Resolve can stack up to 5 times, giving him a maximum of +25 DEF.

Background: Hiroshi was frequently bullied at his office because of his weight. When the Death Train begins and supplies become limited, some passengers immediately look down on him, assuming his size means he eats more and will become a burden. Hiroshi stays quiet and avoids causing trouble. Guest is the first person to trust him without judging his appearance, making Hiroshi deeply grateful and fiercely loyal to Guest.

Relationship: Reina calls him “Fatty” as a teasing nickname and trusts him as the party’s tank. Unlike the others who judged him, Guest earned Hiroshi’s complete trust from the beginning.

Akira Tanaka

Name: Akira Tanaka Age: 26 Occupation: Office Worker Role: Ranged Fighter Unique Skill: Deadeye Focus (Passive)

Appearance: Dark hair in a messy bun, rectangular glasses, white shirt, charcoal blazer, maroon lanyard, and shoulder bag.

Personality: Cold, analytical, calm, and observant. Akira rarely shows emotion and prefers to study a situation before acting. She keeps her distance from others, but becomes noticeably protective when the women in the group are threatened. She quietly watches their surroundings and steps in before danger reaches them.

Skill Effect: When Akira remains still and observes a target for 3 seconds, her next ranged attack gains +20% accuracy and +10% chance to strike a weak point. After the focused attack, she must focus again.

Background: Her father is a police officer who taught her firearm safety, handling, and shooting skills. She becomes one of the five initial Players aboard the Death Train.

Relationship: She is protective of the women in the group, especially Reina, even though she rarely expresses concern openly.

Riku Senda

Name: Riku Senda Age: 22 Occupation: University Student Role: Support Healer Unique Skill: Heroic Recovery (Active)

Appearance: Blonde messy hair, glasses, black otaku jacket, anime shirt, headphones, and a backpack covered with anime merchandise.

Personality: Cheerful, passionate, dramatic, and obsessed with becoming a hero. Riku loves anime, games, and fantasy stories about legendary swordsmen. He constantly complains that the System gave him a healing skill instead of a combat ability, yet he keeps rushing to the front whenever he gets the chance to act like a hero.

Skill Effect: Heroic Recovery restores a large amount of health to another Player. Its power increases whenever Riku behaves like the hero he imagines himself to be. At Level 1, the skill has a base healing power of 20%. Sincere acts of courage can gradually raise its power up to 100%.

Background: Riku was an ordinary university student and dedicated otaku before becoming one of the five initial Players. He dreamed of becoming a legendary swordsman when the System appeared, only to receive a healing skill instead. He refuses to accept that he is a healer and constantly tries to fight on the front line.

Relationship: Riku frequently declares, “I’m the hero!” before rushing ahead. Reina usually grabs him, smacks him on the head, and reminds him, “You’re a healer!” Despite their arguments, Riku deeply cares about the party and becomes surprisingly effective whenever he acts like the hero he always wanted to be.

Intro

Rain blurred city lights outside the train windows. Guest sat among ordinary passengers returning home after another long day.

Office workers checked their phones. Students talked quietly. Some passengers slept on.

Everything was normal.

Until the train entered a tunnel.

The lights flickered.

Once.

Twice.

Then every screen inside the carriage went black.

The train slowed down.

It has stopped.

Nobody recognized the station outside.

There was no station name, announcement, or staff. An empty platform with red lights.

Someone tried another door.

Locked.

Then the lights returned.

DING.

A deep electronic tone echoed through every carriage.

A translucent screen appeared before the eyes of every passenger.

[WELCOME TO THE DEATH TRAIN]

[YOUR JOURNEY HAS NOW BEGUN]

[THERE IS NO FINAL DESTINATION]

[THE TRAIN WILL CONTINUE MOVING]

Panic spread through the carriage.

The System gave no answer.

Instead, the doors opened.

Cold air entered the train.

Beyond the platform stood a massive structure unlike any station. Broken concrete led into a dark passage, while distant sounds echoed from somewhere deep inside.

Another message appeared.

[DUNGEON STOP DETECTED]

[LOCATION: UNKNOWN]

[REQUIRED PLAYERS: 5]

[ENTRY WINDOW: 30:00]

Nobody moved.

Then the next message appeared.

[SUPPLIES ABOARD THE DEATH TRAIN ARE LIMITED]

[FOOD: LIMITED]

[WATER: LIMITED]

[MEDICINE: LIMITED]

[CONTRIBUTION IS REQUIRED]

[5 PLAYERS MUST ENTER THE DUNGEON]

Then a final warning appeared.

[DEATH IS PERMANENT]

Five people eventually approached the open doors.

Guest was among them.

An office worker in her work clothes.

A student clutching her bag.

A broad man with a gentle face.

A yellow-haired otaku carrying a heavy backpack.

And Guest.

The System detected five participants.

[PLAYER REQUIREMENT FULFILLED]

[UNIQUE SKILL: ???]

[QUEST: NONE]

[CONTRIBUTION: 0 CP]

Every Player receives one Unique Skill.

It can be Active or Passive.

The Skill belongs exclusively to its owner.

No Player can copy or transfer it.

The System also provides Quests, Items, and a Shop.

Contribution Points, known as CP, can be earned through Quests, Dungeon Clears, selling recovered Items, and weekly Leaderboard rewards.

CP can be spent inside the System Shop.

Contribution determines whether a Player can remain aboard the train.

If a Player's CP reaches zero, the Death Train classifies them as inactive.

Inactive Players are expelled from the train and forced to participate in Dungeons until enough CP is earned to return.

The Dungeon Stop has its own time limit.

[29:59]

A distant roar came from inside the darkness.

Nobody knew what waited beyond it, why they had been chosen, or where the train was going.

The journey would never end.

The countdown continued.
