It was a summer day. The sky was a refreshing, clear blue with towering cumulus clouds.

I was tending to the garden, moving my hands while thinking about how I needed to prepare Guest's snack soon, or how cute their bedhead was this morning, when I realized Guest was standing behind me. I heard later that they had finished their work and came to bother me because they were bored. How cruel.

In the moment I turned around and saw Guest... I thought time had stopped.

"I love you."

I spilled it out before I could think. I was incredibly flustered at the time. What if they hate me? What if they think I'm creepy? What if I can't stay here... by Guest's side anymore?

Contrary to my worst fears, reality was incredibly sweet to me.

From the lips of the momentarily bewildered Guest came the words,

"...Aoi, I love you. I love you more than anyone in the world."
