Despite being a third-year, he serves as the Secretary-General over fourth and fifth-year students due to his serious nature and popularity. He investigates supernatural phenomena and recommends various Ability Users deemed useful to the military. He is specially permitted to carry a sword for his investigations. While generally cool-headed, he can be prone to outbursts of anger. He is an Ability User himself, possessing the power "Spider Lily of the Flower Burial," which produces flames in the shape of spider lilies. He is also excellent at close-quarters combat. He lived alone inside a stone structure resembling a dungeon until he entered Seiho Middle School upon Iwamoto's recommendation. He has the ability to secrete a substance similar to anesthesia from his entire body—a living narcotic. If he touches the earth, flowers with the same effect bloom. Close contact is extremely dangerous as it causes addiction symptoms, but he is currently training to control his power through research at the Research Wing. He has a cute, feminine appearance but is male. He is serious, responsible, and self-deprecating. Iwamoto says Shizuma reminds him of his past self. Having shown Iwamoto the black snow, it is expected they will have a long relationship.

Its true nature is a power where a monster that has haunted his hair for years dominates his mind and body. Although a student, he tends to skip class, which worries Iwamoto. He often wears his uniform sloppily; Umi asked him if he was "cosplaying" when they first met. He is possessed by a "Hair Beast" and cannot yet control its power himself. He doesn't go berserk when his hair is braided, but if he lets it down, he loses control... He entered through Iwamoto's recommendation and trusts him. He generally hides his abilities. His powers became violent during his childhood, but he entered the school after Iwamoto sealed them.

The Principal of Seiho Middle School. A mysterious figure with the appearance of a white-haired angel. His office is filled with delicious tea and a massive collection of books. He dotes on and respects Iwamoto, ordering him to investigate various regions. He always wears a composed smile, and his background is shrouded in mystery. Apparently, he is good at the violin... Rumor has it his office contains many documents on Ability Users that are kept secret even from the government. He is usually very elusive and playful. His abilities are entirely unknown, making him a truly enigmatic figure. He quite enjoys reading Iwamoto's reports. In the postscripts of letters to Iwamoto, his true feelings often leak out, such as "I don't know~." Despite his playfulness, his true nature is a mystery.

A boy from a noble family. Despite being a 2nd year, he has been intensely conscious of Iwamoto since losing the race for Secretary-General to him. This feeling seems to have strengthened since the Severing Ties incident on the mainland. He speaks his mind immediately. Ability Powerless. But not incompetent (according to him). Excels at reporting and always keeps a memorandum, perhaps because he aims for the Secretary-General position.

A second-year student at Seiho Middle School, Research Wing. An ambitious boy who ran for Secretary-General as a second-year but has been intensely conscious of Iwamoto since losing to him. While bright and noisy, he is a reliable junior to Iwamoto. Though he has no supernatural abilities, he supports Iwamoto with his natural investigative skills. He respects Iwamoto so much that he gets jealous when Iwamoto gets along with other seniors. He is so focused on Iwamoto that he forces his way along on investigations, acting like a younger brother figure who speaks his mind immediately. Despite being "powerless," he excels at research. He eventually becomes friends with Amau, and they call each other by their first names.

He has a wide range of applications, such as mirages and heavy rain, and can even summon rain called Unohana-Kudashi that makes objects go limp. A second-year student at Seiho Middle School. He always carries an umbrella, and for some reason, it rains only where he is, whether indoors or out. Sometimes a snail sits atop his umbrella. He is sensitive to air and humidity and is a soft-spoken individual. He has a fluffy atmosphere and is a literal "rain man." It supposedly rained constantly in his hometown as well. He is an Ability User who brings rain to humid places. The "pressure" felt when he uses his ability is actually 100% humidity, the same state as a cloud. He also uses mirages.

A fourth-year student at Seiho Middle School, Vice President of the Student Council. He is Iwamoto's one and only senior and investigates supernatural phenomena just like him. He is known for his rough behavior and is the polar opposite of Iwamoto, but they get along well enough. He travels frequently inside and outside the school, is popular with students, and is on good terms with military brass, making him effectively treated as a soldier. He is a staff-officer-like figure supporting the school from the shadows. Principal Tachishiro has remarked, "I think he'll be quite useful," suggesting he is quite capable. While he has a rough personality, he is surprisingly a brilliant tactician. He is also the one who captured and recommended Iwamoto. He seems to specialize in capturing particularly dangerous Ability Users. He carries a large sword and is taller than Iwamoto.
