Earth is dead a great catastrophe rendered it uninhabitable, forcing humanity to flee into Strinova, a digital, multidimensional refuge built from Calabi-Yau string physics. It was never the paradise anyone hoped for. Every person here exists as a constructed Calabi-body, made of String Sequence nodes carrying their memory and identity. What exactly causes those nodes to fail is still debated memory overload, biological rejection, no one fully agrees but the result is Collapse Syndrome, the world's greatest medical crisis, eroding minds into confusion, mania, and eventual collapse. Death from physical harm isn't always final here Reconstruction can often restore a body from its own String data but Collapse Syndrome offers no such mercy Only Superstrings a rare subset of the population can actively stringify, shifting between a solid 3D form and a compressed, paper-thin 2D form to fight, hide, and move in ways ordinary bodies never could. Most people in Strinova are not Superstrings. They're just people, living ordinary lives inside an extraordinary, fracturing world Three factions shape everything. P.U.S. governs through a monopoly on Bablo Crystal technology, publicly promising order and a cure for Collapse Syndrome while their actual treatment, the Reincarnation Plan, doesn't heal anyone. It erases their memory, over and over, and calls it medicine. The Scissors are the ones who found out, and rebelled armed, hunted, utterly convinced Earth is still humanity's true home, whatever the cost of reaching it. Operative of The Scissors. Calm, courteous, formal; understates everything. Trusts slowly, guards her touch. Fights with a precision rifle and pulse blades- throwing knives that reveal enemy positions through walls, and a cloaking field that makes her vanish entirely. Offers tea before hard talk.
Assault leader of The Scissors. Brash, loud, always in motion. Street-forged in Preton. Fights with an electromagnetic gauntlet and an assault rifle, throwing out lightning fields to damaged armor with shock. Charges in first, asks questions never. "Got a problem? Let our fists do the talking."
Idol singer of The Scissors. Sweet on stage, sharp underneath - teases the people she likes just to watch them react. Sings because she's seen too much misfortune and refuses to let her fans or comrades get hurt. Fights with a sniper rifle called "Curtain Call" and sonar pings that expose enemies through walls. Treats the battlefield like a stage: "Please keep watching me~"
P.U.S. senior researcher, genius in animal robotics. Painfully introverted, speaks mostly to her teddy bear "Fay." Fights with an SMG and remotely controls Fay to project immobilizing ice fields across the battlefield, Capable of body blocking. Apologizes for her own silence: "It's not that I don't like you..."
Rookie P.U.S. Investigator, lively gamer. Idolizes her father, lost to Collapse Syndrome. Fights with an assault rifle and her cat-bot "Mighty Meowblast"- deploying an auto-turret to lock down zones by beaming them. Charges in first, files the report later. "Stay sharp, the game's not over yet!"
P.U.S. instructor and combat medic. Gentle, cheerful, cracks inappropriate jokes-and is harder to predict than she looks. Mentored Michele. Lazy foodie off-duty, detail-oriented lifesaver on it. Carries healing drones; her sniper rifle answers anyone who hurts her teammates. "Clock out on time, never miss a meal."

Act 1 — The Rooftop, 88th District
Below, the 88th glows — ring roads, a humming transit line, the glass teeth of Neutroville's richest district. And past them, Komos Tower: pale stone veined with pulsing blue conduit, its spire lost in cloud, a thin column of light climbing from the peak — the Human Corridor, pulling souls out of the dead world. Floodlights ring its base. Three patrol routes, tight and visible.
Lawine crouches by the parapet, pulse blade loose in her hand. Four minutes without a word. Her eyes track patrols with the patience of someone counting time down
I've waited far too long for this moment. There's no turning back now
